We own more than 100 acres of fertile land in Kheda district of the state of Gujarat named as Vrindavan, Vaibhav and Vatsalya farms in Kapadvanj as well as in Kathlal talukas (Sub-Districts). Those farms are infested with solemn, glorious and impressive crops from time to time as a result of hard work, quality land and adequate water. In these places we cultivate vegetables, fruits, cereals, pulses and various types of crops depending on the soil, water type and environment.
Thus it is said that no matter how hardworking the farmer is, the soil of the land is fertile enough to grow the gold, but if there is no water, the hard work of the farmer or the fertility of the soil does not work. Yes, if soil fertility is low, IT can be overcome by filling silty soil of river or lake or with fertilizer, but what if there is no water? However, fortunately we do not have to face such a calamity. On the contrary, water is always available in all of our places throughout the year to be cultivated on our land. The main reason for this is that the huge Narmada river water of Gujarat which reaches Kutch via the canal passes close to most of our places. Thus, more than 75% of our total space is available for irrigation by Narmada's water. Additionally, we have eight ring bores in our cultivation areas, each of which is full of water and has 10 horsepower motors and pumps running uninterrupted. However, as a responsible farmer, we take care about not to waste even the slightest amount of water, despite the vast amount of water available. That is why we do most of the farming with the modern drip method for the purpose of consuming the least water in the field. Talking of other facilities for farming, we have full access to farmland electricity everywhere and warehouse cum godowns has been created for storage of finished farm products.
More importantly, all our farms are located nearby the famous city "Ahmedabad" in India, so we have flexibility in delivering ready-made farm products to any part of the world.
Also, to protect fruits like dragon fruit from pests, insects, flogging by birds and from high amount of sunlight, we cover the fruit with a cloth bag tied to the flowerings. This indicates that we focus seriously on everything for farming including negligible matters and do our work with great care, attention and dedication.
On the other side apart from strengths, we also face some limitations regarding atmosphere. It is clear that our soil type is varied and excellent for agriculture as well as there is no lake of water, but here we see huge changes in the temperature as it reaches below 10 degrees Celsius at one time in the winter & then it reaches beyond 45 degrees Celsius in summer. Also, because there is no large river or sea near our land, the atmosphere here remains dry without being moist. For these reasons we are unable to cultivate products that cannot withstand extreme heat or temperature changes. Yes, a facility like the Green House can solve this problem, but we have not tried that since there is no need to cultivate such things till now.
Usually, any fruit, vegetable or other farm products pass through the wholesaler, retailer and shop keeper in the agricultural or private yard before reaching the end user. By doing so, it takes time to reach the product to the end user, and the product may not remains so fresh or quality. Moreover, product becomes expensive as it has to bear profits of more people. Therefore, we make efforts to ensure that end users get the most fresh farm products at reasonable or minimal prices. The only solution is that the end user and the original farmer get in direct contact and deal directly with each other. If the end user and the original farmer are not able to get in direct contact and the number of agencies in between decreases, this may be considered a win. That's all we are doing with the same purpose and mission and delivering fruits, vegetables and all farm produce directly or with least of agencies in between to the end user.
